We've done it! We completed our first week of the Wim Hof 10 Week Challenge! Okay, maybe only one of us actually did it all the way through. Jayson's been a champion for the new body experiment and so far it's been going well. His tolerance for the cold has gone up - which kind of a big deal when you live in a camper...where you spend 80% of your time outside. Did we mention it's November? He's been incorporating the new system into his morning routine.
The first week includes doing three rounds of breathing exercises, a few stretching exercises to get your blood going, and then introduction to cold showers.
According to Jayson the experience has helped become more focused in his day to day things. It's lowered his stress levels significantly, and helped him become more in tune with his body.
As for me (Amber), well, I'll be honest I'm not really feeling it. Other than being stressed about the holidays, I was also sick last week (thanks to my sister's face coughing nuggets of joy), and, I'll admit, I didn't exactly get on board 100%. Where the cold showers boosted Jayson's confidence in his ability to withstand the dropping temperature, it was just another cold shower that wasn't fun for me. To top it off, I found that I prefer calm meditative breathing over the attempt to hyperventilate - or so was my complaint and resistance to the process. To be fair, I think I wasn't in the right frame of mind to start something like this. Lots of out of whack chakra's going on over here that need to be dealt with first.
Next week we'll be plowing forward into taking cold showers first, more breathing exercises, some push-ups, and a few variations in "exercises" Wim encourages. In the meanwhile here's some video diary stuff of how it went for the both of us!
